Captain black royal in a cob. Haven't had this in a while. Is that the one on the gold pouch? Gosh haven’t had that blend since I was a teenager. It used to be in a blue package. Then laws changed. And now everything here is in what I call "ugly green". Sail has taken over production. I n my opinion it just isn't the same.

Sunday greets all & hope nice weekend so far. Earlier full walks, Quorum 6x50 for company. After the humans are fed (probably brunch time with wife's sleep problems along with her other health problems)'06 daVinci in AshtonMagnum bulldog & finish the papers. Predicted a bit warmer but winds could reach 60mph in gusts. We to try & bring in the Halloween decorations if time. Quiet otherwise hopefully till football late afternoon. Cell phone on charger in case to call out & power failure. With what we actually use it, TracFone "flipper" works in emergency. Stay safe all. We have no trees on small property & none in the area a threat to hit the house
43, headed for 50 & wind already starting to increase

Vanilla Custard (Z92) in a Savinelli 311 KS Monty, the Vanilla Custard is from Sutliff correct? If yes, have you also tried the Creme Brûlée? Curious if it’s as sweet as some of the reviews I’ve read. Thanks.....

Curious if it’s as sweet as some of the reviews I’ve read. Thanks..... Yes, it's Sutliff Vanilla Custard. I have some Sutliff Creme Brulee as well. When I first tried both of them out - in corn cob pipes - I decided I liked the Vanilla Custard better. I found it to be sweeter than the Creme Brulee. Since then I've smoked the Vanilla Custard several times in a briar and haven't gotten as much sweetness. So I need to try the Creme Brulee in a briar and see again how it compares.

A coffee and a bowl of 1-Q in my rusticated stanwell which, according to my six year old , smells like delicious hot chocolate on a cold day. May have a future piper on my hands .😃

While the Creme Brulee may not be as sweet, it's sweet enough and is just a tad bit better smoke than Vanilla Custard - at least it is today. They are very close. The flavors in Vanilla Custard are supposed to be cream and vanilla. Creme Brulee is supposed to be caramel, honey and vanilla.

Like you, access to pipe tobacco is limited and I’m constantly looking around with different vendors hoping they can help. I haven’t tried brown flake yet but it’s on my list. Also, had a bowl of the Squadron Leader while golfing today. Wonderful stuff, somewhat citrusy with lemon grass and not as sweet as the St. James flake. I’ve included this because I think you showed an interest in the Sqn Leader. Cheers pal......

I’ve asked my local tobacconist to check with his suppliers for both the Creme Brûlée and Vanilla Custard. Fingers crossed.
