After getting home from the local B&M, The Matchbox, I decided to head up to the cave and have a few bowls... 1st was MM965 in one of my Hardcastle Bent Bulldogs. 2nd was Margare in the other Hardcastle. 3rd was Elizabethan Mixture in a Dunhill Zulu size 5. Now having some Carter Hall in a very special pipe...... A custom MM Cob from our very own Lady Margaret... Thanks Maggie Beautiful pipe and lighter you’ve got there. I’ve recently purchased a similar lighter on Amazon. Very pleased with the purchase. Thanks Ted. The pipe, as I stated in the initial post, was a most thoughtful gift from our very own Lady Margaret. I had the great pleasure of meeting her and her wonderful hubby at the TAPS pipe show a couple of years back. They drove down from VA. She made and gifted pipes for me and a few others that have gotten to know her here on the patch. As for the lighter, it's an "Old Boy" knock off that I picked up on ebay. It's performance is a bit sketchy. Not to worry though, I finally broke down and ordered the real deal a couple of days ago. Looking forward to receiving a real Old Boy. cheers

WC Flake 558 in a Radice Rind Billiard w/faux bamboo shank. Then Sutliff Match 20 in a ‘49 Dunhill Shell LB F/T. Love the old Dunnie It is a fine pipe. I picked it up in a lot of pipes I bought from a friend who got them from a retired Episcopal Priest who had to give up smoking. My friend thought he wanted to smoke pipes but didn’t. After more than a few years he decided to sell them and offered the dusty cardboard box of 16 pipes to me. He asked to make an offer and I threw out $100 without doing much more than a cursory look. He accepted without hesitation. Upon closer inspection I discovered the Dunhill and an old Four Dot Sasieni, so I figured out I was ok on the deal. Those two pipes went off to Cooks Fine Pipe Works for a complete restoration. The transformation was amazing. I cleaned up a no name Meerschaum Apple out of the lot with a crack in the shank that doesn’t impact the smoking. So I still have 13 of the pipes to restore. A retirement project. It is amazing what can be found in a dusty old box!

Found out this morning I'll be having some time on my hands, luckily for me Ron is an extraordinarily talented pipe maker and mind reader whose skills are only matched by his generosity. This surprise Stack ticks every box and will provide many hours of contemplation, and hopefully some without, those are the best. Having Brown Flake Scented topped with Cannon Plug while the current situation starts sinking in. Smokes beautifully.

Christopher, I thought I already replied to your message so apologies if I’m repeating myself. No... I haven’t tried the brown flake but it’s on my list. I have tried the Squadron Leader, I know you mentioned something about it earlier, and it’s wonderful! The Sqn Leader is smooth with a hint of lemongrass but not as sweet as the St. James. I highly recommend both if you ever get the chance. Cheers buddy.....

Another cold, wet, miserable day in the PNW. Sitting down to a bowl of Mac Baran Vanilla Cream. Wonderful aroma but the smoke is somewhat lacklustre just like today’s weather.

Recognized one of Ron's distinctive hallmarks by that slim ring at the end of the shank... Ron and Cramps make some great pipes that are heirlooms...love the 4 that I presently own. Butternut burley in a Legend stained cob and Lane's 1-Q in a partially blasted bulldog by Ron of RdPipes.

It's everything the Vanilla Cream should be.
