Herbert, being a newbie, is the Lancers Slices somewhat similar to the Bengal Slices? Same company or completely different? I'd only be guessing, as I've not smoked Bengal slices...I can tell you that Lancers is the most latt forward tobacco I've had...back in 09, when I jarred it ,it seemed sharp, or perhaps tart is a better word. Over the years the Virginias have mellowed and smoothed out, leaving the smoke much more creamy and well balanced...I suspect my taste buds have gone through some changes over the years too, but I still say most of the credit goes to the jar-time. The tobacco in my jar is made up of long ,broken leaves, black and somewhat oily , with an aroma of stewed fruit and leather, a mouth watering aroma that tells you you're in for something special; if this sounds like Bengal Slices, you're good to go! Stay well, Herb. Wow... that sounds awesome Herb! I’m quickly learning about the importance of jarring some of my tobaccos too. I purchased a tin of Peterson’s Nightcap two weeks ago and the tobacco is resting in a mason jar. After another good shake tomorrow it’ll rest again for another two weeks before smoking. According to comments from tobacco reviews.com, this method is the closest thing to the old Dunhill Nightcap. Will let you know if this is the case in 15 days.

Now that sounds pretty awesome! I haven’t had this blend Christopher. Assuming by its name it’s somewhat sweet and fruity? Also, who makes it? It is. It's quite pleasant. Second in line to Georgian cream. They are house blend's from walper tobacco (local b&m). Thanks for your interest. Cheers!

Crazy wind storm from this morning finally died out. Sitting on the patio enjoying MacB Navy Flake wishing it was the plum berry Christopher (mrlunting) had earlier. Did I mention I’m jealous Chris?🤛

Has anyone had this happen before? I’m still working on a bowl of MacB Navy flake. I love this blend and have had it many times. For some reason it’s extremely tasteless today. My pipe was cleaned thoroughly before lighting up but can’t explain it. I’m not sick or anything either. The pipe I’m using is strictly for burley and other non aromatic blends. If this were a cigar I’d toss it aside and blame the roller for doing a mediocre job. I get it, it happens sometimes with cigars. Never had this happen before in my short time smoking a pipe. Thoughts? Thanks.....

If it still doesn't work try a completely different pipe.

Sutliff Chocolate Mousse in a Lorenzetti Nero 23. Not as flavorful as yesterday. Wonder what's different? Maybe because I smoked Melange beforehand yesterday?

Three pipes loaded this eve, don’t know if I’ll get them all smoked. First was WC Blue Ridge Special in a twin bore Radice bent Apple. Now smoking Wilke Surbrug’s Crystal Palace in an Abe Herbaugh Rusticated Brandy w/bamboo shank. Last might be WC Deluxe Crumb Cut in an old Grabow Riviera Pot.

greets again all. Usual walks earlier, no-band 6x42 for company. After the Ed is fed, '06 daVinci (added latakia as it's fading somewhat) in old SamMartin freehand & continue with the papers. Misc yard work planned for later.

Perfect brown flake in a cob. Your perfect brown and plum berry seem to be your “go to” smokes recently. I’m just jealous. Both sound great like Gandalf’s Hershey bar! 😋👊
