Another cold, wet, miserable day in the PNW. Sitting down to a bowl of Mac Baran Vanilla Cream. Wonderful aroma but the smoke is somewhat lacklustre just like today’s weather. try the MacB Vanilla FLAKE. I don't smoke many aros, and that's my favorite by far. It's everything the Vanilla Cream should be. Thanks for the heads up Jason. Will give it a try.

Thanks Ted. The pipe, as I stated in the initial post, was a most thoughtful gift from our very own Lady Margaret. I had the great pleasure of meeting her and her wonderful hubby at the TAPS pipe show a couple of years back. They drove down from VA. She made and gifted pipes for me and a few others that have gotten to know her here on the patch. As for the lighter, it's an "Old Boy" knock off that I picked up on ebay. It's performance is a bit sketchy. Not to worry though, I finally broke down and ordered the real deal a couple of days ago. Looking forward to receiving a real Old Boy. cheers Dino, when you get the real Old Boy lighter, would appreciate a photo please. Also, thanks for sharing your story on the pipe. Wonderful stuff! Here ya go Ted. It arrived today....

sure it seems like a "broken record" my offerings but tis what it tis from here. Back from usual 2-miles power walks, no-band 6x42 for company. After the Ed is fed, '06 daVinci in SerJack Rowlette "scoop" & continue with the papers. Later, (if don't wind up needing help", batten down wooden two-person bench in back garden. Large tarp covering entire item secured with bricks & cement blocks for winter. Thompsons Water Seal applied in late Sept. Hope last of yard work. At my creaky age, to be quite a project. Rest of day, tend to wife's many needs she can no longer do. Wish me luck!

Lancers Slices in a Butz-Choquin billiard, hot coffee on the side. Herbert, being a newbie, is the Lancers Slices somewhat similar to the Bengal Slices? Same company or completely different?

Now that sounds pretty awesome! I haven’t had this blend Christopher. Assuming by its name it’s somewhat sweet and fruity? Also, who makes it?

Lancers Slices in a Butz-Choquin billiard, hot coffee on the side. Herbert, being a newbie, is the Lancers Slices somewhat similar to the Bengal Slices? Same company or completely different? I'd only be guessing, as I've not smoked Bengal slices...I can tell you that Lancers is the most latt forward tobacco I've had...back in 09, when I jarred it ,it seemed sharp, or perhaps tart is a better word. Over the years the Virginias have mellowed and smoothed out, leaving the smoke much more creamy and well balanced...I suspect my taste buds have gone through some changes over the years too, but I still say most of the credit goes to the jar-time. The tobacco in my jar is made up of long ,broken leaves, black and somewhat oily , with an aroma of stewed fruit and leather, a mouth watering aroma that tells you you're in for something special; if this sounds like Bengal Slices, you're good to go! Stay well, Herb.
