Yesterday I decided to mix what was left of some Sutliff Matured Red Virginia, with equal parts Sutliff Natural Cavendish. It was not great. Today I added to the fore mentioned, a fat pinch of Darin ‘s Burley Legal for my morning pipe and it was great! Smoked it in my mini cobbit. Really softened and rounded out the flavor. It’s nice when you come across such wonderful combinations, but bittersweet in the sense that there isn’t very much of it. At least it made a few bowls I will very much enjoy. Happy piping!

Greetings Patch. I am back on Midnight shift for at least the next year. Did those for 17 years. Have been on days the past 4. But I’m sure you all are aware of the state of the airlines. Sadly my department furloughed a 155 people. I could’ve stayed on dayshift. But to do the work that I wanted to do required me to back to mids. bottom line I have a job. I have taken no pay cut. And I have my health. I had barely just started smoking a pipe when I went to dayshift from midnight shift. So this is going to be an adjustment on how I plan my smoking days from now on. LOL
So yesterday I tried something that I heard on a podcast that a few others have done. One of them being Steve Fallon. A.k.a. pipe stud. Not using the same tobaccos as others have mentioned. I put a small layer of Prince Albert in the bottom of the bowl. Then topped it with SPC Plum Pudding. This has worked out quite well. The Plum is quite crumbly, and has a tendency to plug the airway. The PA acts as a filter. Keeping the airway open. It doesn’t really alter the flavor. Until it starts to burn. May have to try this with some others.

Tried Peterson Flake for the first time today in Peterson Pub. I need to let it dry a little more out of the tin but it was good starting to enjoy Virginia's. Oh boy another category to explore!
