Greetings Fellow Pipe Smokers!

We hope that you can make this November's meeting which will take place on Saturday, November 14th starting at 1 PM-approximately 5PM.

Pipe night will take place on Wednesday the 26th at 5PM, Thanksgiving eve.

I received a notification from Sutliff/ MacBaren that they are discontinuing the virtual pipe club because interest waned deeply. I am waiting to hear back to see if they will re-institute the pipe club offerings that they suspended due to the Covid outbreak.

As soon as i know something, I will let you guys know.

November 14th 1851 happens to be the date that Moby Dick was released in the USA...from Chapter 30:

"Ahab now sits alone on the deck of the Pequod, smoking his pipe. Melville describes him as “a king of the sea; and a great lord of Leviathans,” and compares him to old Norse kings. Unfortunately, Ahab is too disturbed to take comfort from his pipe-smoking. He casts his pipe into the sea."

Ahab should have had a decent pipe club to meet at, have a smoke and unwind.

We had a great time today in spite of the numbers being low due primarily (I believe) to Covid related concerns for some members.

DaveinLAX winged his way south from Wisconsin ahead of the cold weather.

Joe Fabian (12:00 position) of Laudisi joined us for a session, in an unofficial capacity in that regard, he came to smoke pipes. He is in charge of the western region for sales, and let us know that Laudisi will start carrying Gawith & Hoggarth Pipe tobaccos beginning late this year or early next!
