Got the lawn cleaned up including trimming and clean up, always a satisfying moment. Enjoying Hearth and Home Louisiana Red in an unfinished Savinelli Lumberman and sipping on a Louisiana brewed seasonal Abita Strawberry Lager, listening to local radio personalities on the box in the work barn.

Last smoke of the evening is Esoterica Margate in a smooth 3/4 bent SMS eight panel meerschaum. Pipe was gifted to me, passes a cleaner, the bowl is rough to the tongue indicating it's block and worth a try. Margate continues to grow on me. It's overshadowed by other Esoterica offerings; however, it's the one I've been reaching for recently before bed. Cool, dry and always smokes to a grey ash in a meer for me. Watching Doc Martin, hearting Caroline Catz and drinking mineral water before bed.

Cool and rainy here this morning, expected high of only 57F today. Starting off with Hearth and Home Anny Kake in a smooth pre-1964 Peterson 312, drinking Trader Joe's coffee and listening to NPR. Last day of the month so I have to throw my five gallon gas cans in the back of the truck and use my Kroger fuel points today, normally $.35-$.45 off per gallon. Five cans and a full tank in the truck normally gets me by all month since retirement.

well, if you want to quit pipe smoking i recommend giving away all your pipes and tobacco, and i would be happy to receive them! lol. if you simply want to quit cigarettes there are pipe blends that will help you make the transition. not sure exactly what you are looking for. but as Justin said, a pipe smoking group is probably not where you will find help and support to quit smoking completely.

Had an old iteration of my Cube & Cav mixture laying around. Tossed a pinch of Latakia in for the hell of it. Just loaded a bowl to test it out. Not bad. Better than wasting tobacco.
I can only do Latakia in a truly condimental way. This is decent. Sweet with just a touch of smoke. I won't make it again, but I'll finish what I have.

I can suck down a tin of Mac Baren Latakia Blend in a long weekend. Badly named as it's really VA forward with Lat only as a condiment. Roll cake MB quit making years ago. Finest kind IMHO. I have seven tins cellared and will crack one Derby weekend while y'all are partying in Chicago at the pipe show. On topic, loading up a bowl of Uhle's Perfection Plug in an MM Country Gent, drinking ice tea with lemon, going over some market reports and listening to ESPN radio.
