I was trained in a school and worked in a "arty farty" bakery in California. Bread baking for a long time. It is a worthwhile hobby. Machines are fine. I knock nothing. That’s awesome brother! Wish I was a baker...... Think about it. Bakers have to get up at 3AM, the work is really hard and the pay generally sucks. For every Flying Saucer Pie Shop, or Three Brothers, there are a couple of dozen failures. Hobby baking is fun. I am of the opinion that as long as I can buy bread and fresh vegetables and such that I am not a farmer. I have lost count of the money I've wasted trying to grow tomatoes. |

Yes, I should to be more careful with my word choice. Meant baker as a hobby not a profession. 0300 hrs wake up calls, work long hours for lousy pay to find the your best plan unraveling before you? Sounds like the Army. Wait a minute... that was me! |

Cooking for pleasure beats doing it for an occupation, unless you become a famous TV chef.
