I really like churchwardens. Recently (like yesterday) I stumbled upon a fellow that has a nice selection of them at very reasonable prices. Penn Valley Pipes. Mr Ellis is the owner and he seems like a nice fella. Small business, which I always like to support if I can. Was gonna stop pipe-buying for a while, but I’m weak and a new churchwarden is headed this way. Stop over and take a look at his stuff.

They look nice.
A good churchwarden is something missing from my collection. I've the cobbit shire and a Mr Brogs mini one, but nothing to be proud of.

I like Churchwardens, but the bowls are so small. I have 3 or four. The only one that smokes good is an old Mastercraft from England.

The bowl in my Roma egg is quite large. Not smaller than my P’son Oom Paul. Smokes 40m easy.

I don't remember the maker but I did look at the pipes and they were very nice. I just don't need any more pipes. I don't have any place to unpack the ones I have. My WDC Wellington Jumbo has a huge bowl and is as long as a churwarden. |

In the interests of scientific exactitude in important subjects, I timed a leisurely bowl in my Roma egg churchwarden with Z92, It smoked for 1:02. I did not smoke the bowl to ash.
