I wonder if he kept the gator? I hear they do not make very good pets. Ungrateful.

There wouldn't be anything left of that gator if he attacked my dog.

Don't have to worry about alligator's in Illinois, but there is concern about big hawks and owls snatching a small dog.

I grew up in Florida. Once we found a dead gator on the local boat ramp. Someone had shot it, in the back of it's head. Then they hauled it back to land. We could not tell how big it was, since the boaters had cut off the gator's tail. That is the only part worth eating. But the shoulders were almost 3 feet.

When we had our house on Lake Livingston, my wife was swimming off the dock with our 6 month old boy, while I was reading the local paper about 13 foot gator killed in the next cove over.

We had a Fishing camp in Cypremort Point , Small Canal,in front of it , small dock where I tied up my boat. Kids would dive and swim when they werenβt skiing. One week they said a very big alligator was on the bank checking them out. That night about 2 in the morning I took my mini-14, made a 2 liter plastic pop silencer, eased on the dock, got ready, popped my very small flashlight off and on, gators are curious, saw the green eyed booger slowly swimming towards my light, close enough I popped him. Week later he turned belly up on the bank.

Not sure why my earlier link disappeared.
Shows up on my phone but not on my PC?
Another video of it.
