Not bad. There are toll takers at the NY tunnels and bridges that come close to that some years.

In the video, I like how the managers are justifying the cost... You cannot blame the employee, he didn't make the rules, but the bosses must have looked the other way, and blaming him isn't going to cut it. For 250k, you can hire at least four, maybe five employees to do the same work. at the minimum.

I averaged 65 hours a week for a couple of years as a rich guy's personal assistant and it nearly killed me. It wasn't by choice and I didn't get overtime; I'd get home and there'd be less than eight hours before I was supposed to be back. It got to where all I could think about was sleep, and I'd have to go park the car under a bridge for an hour to get some.
I could have done it if I'd refused to have a personal life, but wasn't willing to do that - after I got home I was damn sure going to drink some beers and blast some alien space robots.
I agree with Charlie that you can't blame the janitor; the bosses set up the system and knew what he was doing, but five guys making $50K would have worked better. Still, the guy wasn't stealing the money - he was given the opportunity to work more for pay and took it. I think he would have needed to sneak off and grab some zzzs, but apparently in all this no one really cared about the quality of the work, so the BART customers that had to use the dirty stations were the ones that paid.

Pittsburgh had the same issues a few years ago..there were 5 or 6 that topped 190k and about 8 or 10 around 160k for a 55 or 60k base pay job..

Yeah, Sadly that's how about 25% or more employees do their job nowadays. No wonder employers are so cut throat now. Another reason I'm glad to be out of the work force.

It is simply amazing to see how smartphones have affected industry....a lot of screwing off takes place, and seeds the ground for the employer to be motivated to overreaching...before trucking goes to automation, all trucks will have cameras facing the drivers...many companies already have it.
Amazon has five distribution centers in the greater Phoenix area, and I don't think that anyone is allowed to take phones into the work areas...I certainly don't blame them for that policy.
