I was gifted many samples of Sterling tobacco recently and have tried two so far..The Vermont Maple is astounding! Its breakfast in a bowl!! A pipe that is! Not overly sweet but toasty with a sweet maple undertone..something that is enjoyed with a cop of coffee in the morning!
Tankard is apricot and kinda sweet for my taste..it is good but I really dont care for apricot.

Let me restate that...I love apricots..but not in tobacco..I have grilled apricots and peaches...probably all stone fruit...but to me when it is in tobacco the flavor tastes burned or..scorched maybe?

Mike, the only maple blend I've has is C&D Autumn Evening. While I''m not much of an aro guy I do find it pleasant. As far as peach goes, the last blend I remember smoking with it as a topping was John Rolfe (an OTC blend) about 40 years ago.

I didn't detect any apricot in the Tankard, but I've only smoked it once. Jack recommends smoking a blend at least five times to really experience it, so I'm going to give that a try. I like peach quite well, so if I ever detect the apricot I suspect I will like it better. The country store peach wasn't exactly what i expected, but i suspect if i smoke it a few more times I'll like it.
