San Francisco has a long history of accepting nonsense and rejecting common sense.
The same could be said of several cities in the so called golden state.

Hewlett Packard is moving from San Jose to Houston. Since they bought Compaq years ago they've had a couple of huge campuses there so it makes sense. They are building another one too.

I suspect that would be an impermissible intrusion on an individual's civil rights with regard to personal conduct inside their own home. Especially since the dope smokers on the board of supervisors made an exception for a drug which is still illegal under federal law. Oh, sorry, pleas ignore that last sentence...I didn't mean to use my out loud voice.

Pot smoking is OK so there is that.

I wonder how they'd enforce it. Go to a judge and ask for a search warrant for suspected smoking? Sounds ludacris. Or just enter without permission and without a warrant because a crime is in progress? That doesn't fly either.

Meanwhile in unit 13F. They are trying to decide if they should use hickory or applewood in the smoker, before they leave for work.

Was there a rule change that I was unaware of? Oh no... there it is. I see it now. #1 on the list. Ok, just checking.

It passed 10-1 yesterday. The initial proposal hoped to ban people from smoking weed inside their apartments but officials voted to exclude smoking marijuana when cannabis activists said the law would remove their only legal place to do so.
The city’s Department of Public Health will be in charge of enforcing the law.
Under the ordinance, the department must first try to educate violators and help smokers quit. Repeat offenders could be fined $1,000 a day but can not be evicted for a smoking violation.

They’ve already done a number on Arizona. But— alas— we edge toward politics.

They’ve already done a number on Arizona. But— alas— we edge toward politics. I don't know what "they've" done but I'm happily puffing my pipe here in my smoke friendly home here in Arizona. I gave up long ago worrying about what happens in the outside world and just enjoy what I can control in my smoke friendly world!

Hopefully the trend does not keep spreading. It is too bad that the general public equates all smoking as bad, and seems to view pipe smoking where one does not typically inhale, whereas the pot smoker has to in order to achieve the desired affect.
In that regard, they are worlds apart in my opinion.

I agree with pot being accepted because of personal reasons. I think it should only be aloud for those medical reasons. As far as baning tobacco, it is absolutely absurd. To tell people they can no longer do something they have done for 40 years. That grinds my gears.

Sadly we have seen 50 years of anti-smoking campaigns paid for by our tax dollars that lump us in with the cigarette companies that deserve to be castigated for their actions. And 50 years of that nonsense has informed the people that decide public policy.
