Greatest of all the Cold War espionage writers… If you’re into this sort of thing, or would like to be, these three books (the “Karla” trilogy) are the finest spy books that have ever been written: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy . The Honourable Schoolboy . Smiley’s People

He was a remarkable writer. The "Karla" trilogy is everything you claim it is.
The Tailor Panama is a most humorous spy yarn and worthy of Graham Greene's Our Man in Havana.
The Spy That Came in From the Cold is one of his best. Made into an excellent movie in the middle 1960s.
He was a great man, indeed.

George Smiley has a small role.
