At the end of my run the other morning, the tell tale signs of a cold coming on with the sore throat started manifesting itself. A couple hours later my dental hygenist asked me if I had "the cold that everyone has gotten, that has a cough that lags for weeks"..."no" I replied at that point, because I thought mine might be allergy related. Later that day it hit with full force....bouncing between day quil and ny quil has allowed me to finish out the week at work, but it feels like someone took a wire wheel to the inside of my throat and every extended cough I expect to cough up red meat. The wife came to the rescue, this stuff works great! I had used it once before at the tail end of a mild cold and it did the same...better than typical drugstore stuff, not cheap though...if you buy through Amazon,, the 24 oz. is a bit cheaper per ounce. 15-20% grain alcohol. That'll do the trick.

I think in high school we used to buy some stuff called terpin hydrate..it was something like $.99 for a 6 oz bottle...and waas like 40 or 45% alcohol.

The cough syrup worked great, still got a sinus infection.. cheeks and gums feel like a gremlin with a hammer has bored into my head, and pounded everything from the inside.
Never once was I inclined to pick up the pipe on my all night run.
Waiting for some antibiotics.

okay, now I have an old Bugs Bunny cartoon running through my mind, I think it was called Russian Rhapsody, and it's hard to find because it's not politically correct. Hitler takes a plane with bombs over into Russia with the intent of bombing the Kremlin, and as soon as he crosses the border little gremilns starting popping up all over his plane, they are "gremlins from the Kremlin" and they start hammering and sawing away at his plane little by little to the tune of Volga Boatmen. *sigh*
