Yes, I suppose we should give some sort of present to each of the servants.

Happy boxing day to you all. I find Christmas eve and boxing day much better days.

I spent some time in Canada some years back where I learned Boxing Day was a thing. Happy Boxing Day, all.

Yes, I suppose we should give some sort of present to each of the servants. Perhaps the shells from the walnuts and chestnuts consumed with Christmas Dinner? The roast bones go to the dogs so that is out for the serfs. Maybe a new broom for the head girl downstairs? A boot lace for the kitchen boy. Just one lace, we do not want it going to his head!!!!

Three quarts of oil for the chauffeur; a leather mending kit for the chief hostler; and box of fired 12-bore shells for the gamekeeper.

Not "Tight", just thrifty.

*I* am thrifty. *You* are tight. *He* is a skinflint. It's all in the nuances.
