And accompanied by lots of fireworks in our area. I wonder what we can expect for next year, but at least we have a next year.

Too wet for fireworks here and nobody is wasting ammunition. I sure miss having my Colt Heritage Walker. I used to load about 50 grains of Black Powder with wax bullets and discharge on the 4th of July, New Year's Eve, Bastille Day, Mexican Independence Day. That was fun. LAPD Cruisers driving around later but no trace. It must sounded like a cannon.

A Colt Walker will take up to 60 grains but is not accurate with that load. 40 grains is standard. Less is more accurate. 50 made a nice boom.

LOL! I just heard a roaring engine accelerating on the highway in the distance, one of my neighbors with no or little muffler because he is "Bad". Followed by a loud crash like a collision from the direction of the crossroads. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year, Farmer is going to start cutting my Cane in the morning, 2 Hurricanes made the Mills slow down the cutting, a freeze would hurt my check, no freeze so far, so Iβm happy.

Wishing everyone a Very Happy, Healthy and Smoke filled New Year! 2020 will be a memory in a couple of hours here in SoAZ but looking back I only got to attended one pipe event but though Zoom I feel more connected with the hobby than ever. In normal times I'd visit with guys 5 or 6 times a year but now I'm hanging out with them for hours a week via Zoom chat. Personally mrslax and I retired, our family grew(Grand baby Avelyn was celebrated with new "73" Castello Le Dune)and so did the collection including some very special pieces that are now housed in a 200 count pipe chest that I picked up in May. It was a lot of fun to get the Castello Collection out of the pipe boxes and have them easily accessible.

I never got the hang of inserting the MAGAZINE in the Garand. I was young and there wasn't an Internet, so I had a weak spring and I was using the wrong ammo. I got rid of it. I bought it for 75 and sold it for 150 a year later. Not my favorite weapon.

An excellent rifle. I loved mine.

If I had it back, I would put a new spring and get the right ammunition. But I still don't think I would like it.

Patton liked it. (Mags in a Garand. It is to laugh.)
