I love it in theory, but I hated to shoot it. Heavy and kicks like a mule. If course when I had it I weighed about 150 lbs. If I had it back, I would put a new spring and get the right ammunition. But I still don't think I would like it. Patton liked it. (Mags in a Garand. It is to laugh.) You know that's strictly for your benefit, you language Nazi! 😜 🤠 I'm glad that they switched to a CLIP for the M14. 😎😛🤡👹 |

Got my stimulus check last night and stimulated the economy this morning with a Ruger 10/22 International stainless. Just doing my part.

I never experienced “Garand Thumb” (knock on wood), that action is quicker than a pissed viper.
The Garand is a fun rifle to shoot, I have an adjustable gas plug that I can use if I ever choose to, but I am happy with the M2 ball ammo. I imagine over the years, a lot of bent op-rods occurred using modern 30.06 ammo.
Firing off the Garand always got the attention of fellow shooters at the range, but the heavy weight of the rifle, dampens a lot of the recoil, at least for me.
I was on Gumbroker a few weeks back and was amazed at the price a seller posted for EN-Bloc clips, there must be a billion or two in existence.
