No, he's in California I think. Although the real Sasquash is down the road near Caddo Lake. Local to the Patch. Todd Bannard is the pipe maker. He goes online as Sasquatch. He sells online at Pipe Smokers Den. He gets lots of commissions and doesn’t often have available pipes. When he does they go fast because he makes good pipes.

Greetings Patch. Welcome to the new folks I see here. Just finished working an 18 day stretch. With a few double shift days in there. So any smoking I have been doing has involved a MM cob and cleaning up the tin of “Charlie’s Chance” for those who are new here, the tin or scraps from a bowl fill. Always an adventure. What stinks (besides the smoke) sometimes they are actually really good. But no idea what I have tossed in there.
Last night I started a bowl of KBV Full Metal Balkanist in a Cavicchi.

I am enjoying this GLPease Sixpence. It is new to me. It is in my wheelhouse being a Virginia Perique Kentucky blend.
It is like a friend who is quiet and happy to sit with you without yammering. It is on the milder side, and so you can mechanically smoke it without being interrupted with its taste. Sometimes I like that. I want to be engrossed in my book, or audio book, and not interrupted.
I have a friend who likes whittling. He comes over with his pen knife collection. His only requirement is that his tools not be specialist wood carving tools but pen knives / pocket knives commonly sold outside the wood working community. He recently carved a beautiful chess set using his knives and a lathe. Wow just wow.
Anyway he comes over and we sit and smoke pipe, and I read or just think, or watch him as he whittles and we hardly exchange a word. He is presently working on some duck decoys. They would not probably be good for actual duck hunting as they are kind of small. But they are really magnificient.
It is delightful to cultivate friends you don't have to talk with, so you can have some public time without the energy loss due to the exertion of conversation. And to have tobacco that shares those characteristics.

Black Raspberry in a rusticated bent Nording You seem to be going through a bit of that. Yes, my sinuses are acting up and so my taste is too. Not tasting anything subtle right now. The Wilkes Black Raspberry is the strongest flavored aromatic I have. It really does taste like the fruit. I can still taste it. Not very well, but better than nothing.

Relaxing with some Rattray’s Jocks Mixture in my Erik Nielsen Apple after that day that people over 50 get to look forward to every 5 years. All went fine and the Sausage McMuffin afterwards tasted REALLY good.

At 50...'We will see you in 10 years" At 60..."we found a single Polyp, but the lab lost it...didn't look cancerous, but still, we will see you in 5 years." That was a few weeks back. For me, it was an In-N-Out double double after the procedure. I hear erik makes a decent pipe. That one sure looks like one.

For me, it was an In-N-Out double double after the procedure. I hear erik makes a decent pipe. That one sure looks like one. I’m 56 and and this was my first one. It was 3 really small polyps and see you in 5 years. Erik Nielsen makes a really good pipe. (No relation to any of the Danish pipe makers named Nielsen.) He studied under Kurt Balleby. This was my first pipe from him. It's a grade A that I bought new at the Columbus Show in 2018. I like it so much that since then, I have bought 3 more of his pipes new. He's not that well known in the US as he doesn’t make a lot of pipes and most of his production goes to Asia. He's also getting older and having some health problems and slowing down. I only know of 3 places to buy his pipes new: Blue Room Briars, Bisgaard Pipes, and direct from Erik. Bisgaard Pipes is a pipe shop with a website that is in the town in Denmark where Erik lives. I’ve bought all of mine from Scott and Jesse at Blue Room Briars. He grades his pipes from A down to D. I have an ungraded oval shank Apple that has a very minor shaping issue that he didn’t feel qualified for grade D. You don’t even notice the shaping issue unless it’s pointed out to you. I feel like I stole that pipe for $190. His bents are a little different in that the button is angled up at about 45 degrees. I have a light side clench and that works great for me. I'm about 10 months behind in updating my pipe pictures on Imgur. I need to get caught up on that as two of my Erik Nielsens were bought last August. 2020 was a good year for pipes for me as what I would have spent on travel and lodging for the Chicago and Columbus Shows got moved into my pipe budget. I’ve picked up some really nice pipes as a result. Wow that turned out to be a long response...
