So what your saying is...it may be up for trade? Not at the moment. I'm going through some of my older, overlooked pipes and deciding if they should become part of the rotation. It's possible that I'd consider it someday. No problem and roger that...I’m just in the beginning stages of building up the herd and a nice Peterson would have fit in nicely.

Now smoking The Country Squire's Rivendell in a Heath Make 53 bent brandy. Can't find much info on this brand. A friend gave me this pipe over 30 years ago when he decided that he wasn't a pipe smoker.

Drucquer & Sons Blairgowrie in an old Charatan I bought in the 1980s. Wow nice grain! How long does tobacco last in a flip top jar? I have been thinking of getting a couple for ease of it.

Drucquer & Sons Blairgowrie in an old Charatan I bought in the 1980s. That’s a good looker man! Thanks. It is a well broken-in old companion. I found it in a basket with the other "basket pipes" at a Tinder Box many years ago so I grabbed it for cheap.

I think it depends on where you live. I live near lots of water, near the Gulf Coast. It is incredibly humid here almost all the time--even in the winter. I would be reluctant to store a ribbon cut tobacco in a jar like that for long, but flake and broken flake tobacco will not dry out for months. That said, I use the Ball jars for long-term storage of tobacco, but you are right--these are handy for the "ease of it."

Smoking some 2016 Christmas Cheer in a Dunhill Root billiard. That birdseye is, as the kids say, hawt. Do the kids still say that? Probably not. That birdseye is hawt, regardless.

Smoked some Peterson Hyde Park, Sutliff 1849 and Gold Block in various pipes - all briars, while playing cards with my wife and son. Christmas music still playing in the background. I switched to English now. GLP Blackpoint in a Dunhill Shell Dublin. Will follow up with GLP Quiet Nights in the same pipe. Bell's Amber and a little Belle Meade bourbon to round things out.

Quiet nights did nothing for me. Glad I didn't decide to go big on that one. The Blackpoint was more my speed. Going to continue with the Latakia theme. Next up is GLP Charing Cross in another Dunhill, this one is a Red Bark billiard with a silver band. When I came back to pipe smoking late last winter, I immediately reached for English-style blends, until the weather warmed up. I thought that I'd be back on the English when the weather got cooler. That wasn't the case. With the exception of a handful of random bowls, I'm just getting interested in them now. And I'll still end the day with Haunted Bookshop. As I type this, I am really enjoying Charing Cross.

As predicted, Haunted Bookshop in a MM Twain cob. This will be, probably, maybe my last smoke of the night. Maybe one more, its only 1:03 here.
