Smoking some Artisan's Blend in a Charatan second. Spent an hour or so this afternoon cleaning and reaming my pipes, a very relaxing activity.

Rattray’s Jocks Mixture in my Johs bent Danish Apple. Can you give me a little precis of Jock's Mixture? I started to ask last night, but then figured I'd just go look up reviews in the Tobacco Reviews section. I didn't find any, though, which seems odd.

Having some sail royal in a cob. I wasn't to fond of it at first. However my current opinion: It's not such a bad blend. It resembles Captain Black Royal.

Took advantage of the wife being away by lighting up some SG Full Virginia flake this evening. First time out with this blend and very pleased with the outcome. A very enjoyable smoke indeed. 👍😁

I started to ask last night, but then figured I'd just go look up reviews in the Tobacco Reviews section. I didn't find any, though, which seems odd. I find it to be a nice mild, enjoyable smoke that you don’t need to think about. It's Virginia with a nice light touch of Latakia. The blend description says Black Cavendish, but it's just a light touch that just softens the taste of the blend a slight bit. Personally, I don’t think that this blend smokes well young. I admit to being an age snob when it comes to Virginia’s. I prefer to get at least a year of age on a tin before popping it. I smoke a lot of Va and don’t like young Va as I find it harsh and sharp. You must have searched for Jock's when it's Jocks: (no apostrophe) www.tobaccoreviews.com/blend/957/rattray-jocks-mixture

Thanks!

I decided that I need to cull the flake herd a bit. I have 10 open tins and need to reduce before I open anything else. I'm smoking a Franken-mixture of HH ODF/Burley Flake with small amounts of SG Chocolate and Sam's Flake. Using a Gawith-dedicated "Italy" no-name billiard. Not bad.

6:30am Just had a very mild episode with my daughter's medical issue. I knew it was coming on and was able to act quickly. Everything is perfect and calm now. 😇 Back to bed for a bit.
8am. First finishing ancient secret in a cob while I wash the dishes. 9am. Give the cats their morning treats then start a bowl of wild anatolia in a yello bole burly on the balcony.

Christening a cob I was given a few months back at a poor club meeting with MacB vanilla creme. It was new but the plaster plug in the bottom went soft and was failing out. The guy know I make pipes and suggested I fix it and keep it.
Thank you! A Briar disk inserted and it's a find smoker

Daughters & Ryan Rimboche' AB in a Peterson System Standard 312 P-Lip. P-Lips are definitely not my favorite. Had this pipe for years and rarely smoke it because of the P-Lip. Chasing it with a Bell's Amber Ale and a bit of Weller Antique 107. So what your saying is...it may be up for trade?

I'm going through some of my older, overlooked pipes and deciding if they should become part of the rotation. It's possible that I'd consider it someday.
