Finished off my Jameson Irish Whiskey. Don't think I'll be buying anymore. It's OK but nothing special. The regular Jameson's is okay, I prefer the Caskmate finished in the stout barrels. Much more body. Jameson Gold Reserve is fantastic, but sadly discontinued. The regular Jameson is good but a little light.

Johnnie Walker Blue.
The last of my free bottles… really good stuff, but the JW black is in my future when I have to pay for it.
When I hauled haz waste from retail pickups, if the label was scratched, even if the bottle was sealed it was not ok for them to sell. Flammable liquids that needed to be disposed of responsibly. It was mind blowing how much there was.

Maker's Mark and a Sam Adams Boston Lager. I had an unfortunate incident with Maker's Mark once. Haven't been able to go near it since.

Maker's Mark and a Sam Adams Boston Lager. I had an unfortunate incident with Maker's Mark once. Haven't been able to go near it since. Same thing with me and Jack Daniels. It was a long time ago, in my misspent youth. I still find it harsh, but have made friends with Gentleman Jack.

A little bit of Angel's Envy. Didn't think I was going to be up this late. Reviewing my cellar spreadsheet and plotting next order (not from Esterval's, the anxiety would drive me up a wall). Looks like another 8-10 pounder, just about all bulk.

Looks like another 8-10 pounder, just about all bulk. My experience with Esterval's might be very atypical. If I placed another 5 orders with them, they might all arrive inside a week. I'm not likely to try that experiment, personally, but still. 8-10 pounds is quite a haul. But then, you do go through quite a bit in a day.

Owing to the heat, I brought home two oil cans of Foster's Lager, an excellent hot weather beer.
The taste was bland and nothing like what I remember. I see it is now brewed in Texas and includes corn syrup in the mashing process. That syrup manages to wash out any of the Hop flavor I recall from the original.
Another brand ruined in the USA. What a disappointment. I see now why it was on sale, two large cans for $5.

A lot of people might disagree with me on this one, but I always found Shiner Bock, when properly chilled, to be a solid choice for hot days.
