Just a few quick notes. I picked up a leather roll-up tobacco pouch from Merchant Service (link below). Pros- looks great
- smells like an old-timey shoe store
- stitching is straight, consistent, and seems solid
- vinyl lining
- fairly large
- very reasonably priced for what seems a well-made, leather pouch
Cons- no gusset at the bottom means the tobacco wants to push back up toward the opening

It's certainly reasonably priced. I have one from Sorringowl that I paid like $120 for.

$22.00 bucks is pretty cheap for a leather tobacco pouch...
I would ask them about no gusset though, if they advertise it as so, you should have received one that was.

That's a great price for a lovely looking pouch.

That's a gorgeous pouch, and flakes wouldn't push up at all

Maybe someday I'll get mine from the Postal Service black hole, along with my pipe.

Nice pouch...got one from Stokkebye 4th Generation and is gusseted and only cost #24.00. All leather with perfect stitching...soft "vinyl" inside. I use several different heavy plastic baggies that fit inside so that I can use whatever tobacco I want and switch out the baggy when I switch out the tobacco.

I've got an old Jobey lambskin that's still in perfect condition. Sorry about your bad postal experience, Justin.

I took a look at the Merchant Service website as I've never heard of them. All of their pipes are out of stock and there are no prices published for any pipe. Rather curious.

When I ordered my stuff from them (In early December) I was emailing with one of the owners, and he said their next replenishment of stock would likely not be until mid-late first quarter of 2021.

Interesting. A small operation I guess, which is just fine. There is definitely a lack of information on their website, but a lot of classy photography. Where are they located?

Just north of New York City if I'm not mistaken. Most of the info I have about them came from email exchanges with them, and the PM.com radio show episode they did. Most of the pipe production is done overseas, with some of the finishing work happening here. So from a production standpoint, they are certainly at the mercy of others.

I'll have keep track of Merchant Services. I like the traditional English style of their pipes.

Yep, that's accurate. I ordered a "Special Dark Sandblast" and it was $150. I think some of the smooths might have been a bit higher priced, but not by much.

It just suddenly hit me why you would like their pipes. Rather Bing-esque.

I bought a few pouches in the past, but cannot find them.
My office looks like the Tasmanian Devil dropped some Chimo in the mouth, took some Bohica FUBAR up the nostrils, smoked some Happy Brown Bogie and took a few snorts of Everclear and trashed the place.
Suppose to be a rainy weekend, I feel like Mr. Phelps accepting mission impossible...maybe the pouches are in there somewhere?

I wish they had dimensions on the pouch. Maybe I’ll call.
