Trying out the new Windjammer from G L Pease. Definitely a gem for the perique lover. It starts out with a bit of a sweet taste but a few minutes into the bowl and the perique hits and it hits hard. Very peppery for the the rest of the smoke. This is a complex smoke and if you take your time you will enjoy the play on Virginia, Burley, and Perique. Since I don’t enjoy perique, it has been a difficult smoke for me but an interesting one. The tin description talks about a splash of rum. I think the splash missed my tin or the perique on my tongue didn’t let me enjoy the rum taste. I love a rum topping on my tobacco. I just didn’t get to taste it on this one. Nevertheless, I know this blend will become a favorite of many.

Bent Morgan Bones with I have no clue! LOL I had condensed some large jars a few months ago . And 1 of them I had a bit to much, so I put it in a small jar. To smoke later that week. Of course I didn’t label it. I’ll remember what it is. Yeah tight. Pushed to that back and forgotten. So it’s not english, no Lat. not an aro. Might have perique, but very subtle. I know what it is, but don’t LOL. But it is good.

Some phenomenal pipes -and tobacco’s that are daily fare here. You gentlemen, and ladies that are here have great tastes in tobacco’s and instruments for incinerating the product!

A pipe! For the first time since before SNOW MY GOD! hit, I think. Inns of Court in a Rossi Vittoria 8677 sandblast. IoC has got some layers to it. I think it's gonna take several bowls before I know whether I really like it or not. The IOC, from what I’ve read, comes out highly rated. Curious to know your thoughts Urb and what’s got you on the fence. It may be too rich for me, Ted. Too complex. I knew it would be complex when I bought it, just from looking at the ingredients, but you never really know till you try it. Who knows, it could still turn into a favorite. Like I said, it's going to take a few bowls to sort out. In that time, it'll get some age on it, and I'll get more experience under my belt in my second smoking life.

Stirling Bridge from McCranies, mixed with Amphora's black Cavendish S.R.. An afternoon bowl in a Stanwell, and a second round ,just now , in a newly reamed egg ,marked Made in London England. Two tobaccos tossed together in an attempt to reach the perfect moister level. The resulting flavor is a wonderful mixture of oats, plum, and a nutty brown sugar note from the Amphora. Not overly sweet, and as long as I don't puff like a freight train ,not overly hot...I'll miss this one when it's gone.

wishing all at least a good weekend if not a great one. Usual walks earlier, no-band 5x50 for company. After the Ed is fed, Abingdon in Nording freehand & continue with the papers. Main doings...around noon, chauffer wifie for her 2nd virus shot (do same as she might have a reaction). Otherwise, routine "not much" moving ahead rest of day.
40, now drizzly rain

Tough call today. 4 oz of MacBaren Scottish Mixture and a 2oz tin of C&D Miskatonic Mixture arrived in today's mail. Whichever I go with will be in my bent Grabow freehand. As a follow-up, I went with the MacBaren's. The Miskatonic Mixture smells a lot like Haunted Bookshop, so I put it aside for another day. The MacBaren's has a nice, deep, fruity/earthy smell and it didn't disappoint when smoked, either! This may well be my absolute favorite daily smoking tobacco. The funny thing is that with every puff I thought how a little touch of Latakia would really bring it alive!
