I know people get all het up about Danish vs. Italian, but as far as I can tell they're still making basically the same pipes they were making 15 years ago, and still at a good value.

I have an older Stanwell SOMEWHERE out in the storage semi. Retired it a long time ago. I would like to find it and give it some TLC. It’s a full-bent with lovely lines. I’ve looked through the whole line and cannot find another like it. Kind of a cross between a calabash and a blowfish— if that makes sense.

I was going to go with "blowbash," but I think that might be the name of a movie I saw, once. Okay, twice.

Ever since I started this forum I've thought about getting a Stanwell. They look like lovely pipes. Yours looks great, Plainsman - health to enjoy it, brother.

A beautiful pipe, really nice grain there. One objection...what in the Sam hell is the knuckleheads face photo shopped onto my torso pic?...and no steroids for me, legal or otherwise.

My wife calls me a beast regularly, and hell, I haven’t exercised since the 70’s, if the picture fits....

Beautiful pipe. Danish or Italian made. Regardless, it's a keeper.

Is there a prejudice against Italian pipes? I have several that I like very much. I mean, what’s Savinelli? Amish?

Beautiful grain, nice plateau, and a great looking stem...what's not to like? Nowhere in the league of that briar, but a few years back I bought up five Stanwells averaging $20.00 apiece, (some worked out to $16 apiece with the discount codes) they are all great smokers, real workhorses. Stanwell makes a great pipe in my opinion. thebriarpatchforum.com/thread/2458/stanwell-sale
