They should just make a permanent move and take the show to Texas. No because it would be a f'ng Dallas! 🤬 At least in Dallas you wouldn't be sent to a tent, and it is centrally located. Anything is better than Chicago, the city and state flipped the bird to smokers long ago, surprised they allow a tent and/or charge per puff.

I don't doubt that but Linden lacks the hotel rooms. Even Vegas requires a tap dance to get a smoking ballroom, never mind the fact in that same casino smoking is allowed on the gaming floor! Pretty soon we will have to meet at the strip club....that is if they don't deem us as modern day lepers also.

Unlike Dallas, I actually like Chicago. But I haven't been there 40 years so it has probably changed.

“ The Chicago Show isn’t in Chicago.”
I am aware of that, but the smoking laws in St. Charles seem to be the same as Chi-town.
It just sucks that people at a pipe show are relegated to smoking in a tent, and subject to the weather. It would be nice if there was another Midwestern state that doesn’t take such a dim view of smokers. They are glad to accept all the revenues it generates, but they are also glad to stick it to them at the same time.

I attended all of the CPCC Shows a various locations over the years and those first few years at Pheasant Run were my idea of heaven on earth. So many great memories, it was truly a pipe smokers paradise!

So many great memories, it was truly a pipe smokers paradise! I hear you bro, but with the new owners attitude towards hosting the show, and then the way the state is looking at gatherings, I just wonder if it has all played out. Having said all of that, I am sure that the organizers will use great judgment going forward, and the association of the name of "The Chicago Pipe Show" has a lot of pizazz. I hope for the best of the granddaddy of pipe shows.

But the cost of clean up afterwards was too much. The tent is the best option.
