Hi Everyone,
My first post here. Hoping someone can help me identify the origin and period when this pipe was made. It's bronze or copper-plated and marked Bruyere Guarantie on the side.
Thanks for any help,
Dan in Houston

I would guess French mid century. Welcome to the Patch from Linden Texas! How about an introduction?

I would guess French mid century. Welcome to the Patch from Linden Texas! How about an introduction? Thanks Ron! Well, I'm not from here but I came as fast as I could, as we strangers like to say. Born and raised in France, from an American mother who met my father in the cafeteria of Ecole de France in Paris circa 1956. The rest is history.. I came to the US for college in 1977. Decided this was the place for me. Spent 4 years in Naperville, IL, 23 years on Chester County, PA, and now Houston TX (8 years). I collect firearms and militaria, not pipes, but have been looking for Civil war era pipes for reenactment purposes. This one caught my eye on Etsy. It's now on it's way to Briarville to get fitted with stems. I asked for a short black one and a longer churchwarden stem to see how they look with it. Looking forward to being reunited with it so I can enjoy a bowl or two and joining the Briarpatch.

Well now, that's very specific and I'm intrigued! Is there more you are holding back? :-)

Dan, what is this third empire you mentioned? Alternatively history? My Bad. I meant Second empire, the reign of Napoleon III that ended with the Franco-Prussian war. My uncle Andre Perdoux and aunt Monique were the ones who introduced me to competitive shooting, muzzle loaders, reenacting, and collecting. Here he is in 1969 at an international meet in England (back row, first on the right). Fought in Algeria and an all-around great guy. Not a bad marksman either.

Cool! You really twisted my brain with that one. By the way, I was born and raised in Houston and just recently escaped to NE Texas. You are welcome to it.

Forgive my ignorance but donāt you mean the Second Republic? The monarchy ended with Napoleon or the Burbonās whichever royalist you want to follow. Just saying......
