Some of those I wouldn’t buy if I had the money, some I might. The meerschaums looked reasonable. It is quite the collection.

I like a few of these, but there is no way I would pay the prices they're asking for them as they are not worth that much as a simple receptacle for leaf and fire.

While those may seem ridiculous to some, "worth it" is subjective. Those are actually very reasonable starting bids and expected ranges for most of those pipes. That's quite the collection.

Yes, there are several Dunhills with bids of $100-$150, I doubt that they will remain that way, but that would be a steal... and for a Dunhill collector, there are some really nice pieces. That guy spent some serious money, he sure kept Jody Davis and Todd Johnson busy.

Nice eye candy at the very least, thanks for sharing. Most of them, you can really tell it was a collector's pipe. Fair prices too, I'd say I'm tempted with the Dunhills, but there's nothing from the 20s...

What's so special about Kent Rasmussen? I’d say Rasmussen and Manz pipes will bring a lot more world wide interest and money than Johnson or Davis.

There were individual pieces that I liked, and I appreciated pretty much all of them...but nothing that really took my breath away or excited me enough to consider reaching for the wallet.
I must be an old fuddy daddy or something...lol

I must be an old fuddy daddy or something...lol I hear you, same here. I am sure that some will sell for hearty prices, hence the title. Typically for these types of auctions, after it is over you cannot see the price when the hammer hits. Sometimes there are surprising bargains though.
