So I was in the den and found a pipe sitting on one of the back shelves. Now I vaguely recall smoking this pipe about 3-4 month ago and have no idea what I was smoking in it. Now I tend to grab jars at random and put them back at random so no clue. Now the bowl was still half filled and the tobacco looked fine. So I took it out on the back porch and lit it up. Well it pretty much knocked me on my arse, it was good, really really good. Had a sweat Virginia flavor with some really nice tanginess to go with it. The problem is that is does not ring any bells for any of my cellared tobaccos and anything this good I would remember and add more to my cellar. So I in a conundrum of trying to figure out which of my blends turns into this, cause I really want more of it.

The aliens left you that, as a way of saying thanks...and apologizing for the whole probe thing.

Only one thing to do...Go ask mister owl. Heh. The world may never know! This has happened to me more than once. It's frustrating.

Think I will ask Mr. Magic Eight ball. If he can't figure it out, I am going to have to live with the hardship of working my way through all my blends and seeing if any of them have hints of it.

So a half smoked pipe sat for 4 months, then was discovered, then (and this is the fun part) actually lit and smoked it? I am not saying its Aliens,,,,, but its Aliens..
Mirthful teasing aside, i actually find this possible. Bear with me. Stoving, etc and use heat, so if our esteemed poster was a slow or light puffer, no real heat touched the lower tobacco in the bowl. Toasted, it now possesses more oils and turpene compounds allowing it to easily withstand the months in between lights. In fact I consider such a cocktail might go many months before succumbing to the elements.. I am going to favor the poster on this one. I bet that bowl was a one in a million... As to the blend, i doubt one could ever duplicate it.. at least you tasted something you will never forget!
