I have never been to Uhles, but they make some great tobacco. Some of the finest burley blends out there, in my opinion.

That is a wise decision for proprietor and customer. Savvy store owners will do that. At Big Sticks, if the staff doesn’t know the customer, they always ask if they can help.

I always feel a twinge of excitement every time I read about another pipe shop. I love pipe and tobacco shops, always have. There's just something really wonderful about going into such a place. It smells fantastic, and if you can get a cup of coffee and find a place to sit while talking about tobacco, it's even better. I suspect that it's the same feeling that some people have when they visit their favorite saloon.

Thanks! Just ordered 4 blends. I've not smoked much burley before, so this seemed like a good place to start.

Yo Justin - Bob Runowski was still alive when I first joined Morley's Pipe Club and it's regretful that you didn't join us soon enough to meet him. Bob was profoundly knowledgeable in all things burley and he always told me about Uhle's burleys. He considered Uhle's Blend 00 and Perfection Plug to be the best out there. That's especially high praise, considering Bob worked very closely with C&D, and in fact created many of their great blends. hp les |
