Would like to hear your opinions on the new format. Myself, I liked the old format better.

I agree. Liked the previous version better, especially when browsing different companies.

I prefer the old format, but I'm trying to keep an open mind. It may be that I'm just resisting change. So far I've found it does everything it did before, just differently.

Search options a little different. Just have to get used to it.

When I first checked out the new version, I didn't like it, but after learning how to navigate I'm starting to like it. It's a little harder to find things but it is easier to read with the bigger typeface.

But now that I'm one of the "old folks", I see what they were talking about.

I miss the old browse function and being able to jump to anywhere in the alphabet. Now, when I select a company and then go back a page, it returns to the beginning of the alphabet.

I'm fine with it. My only complaint is they're specifying fonts now. Used to, I could copy descriptions, etc., straight off their page and into my spreadsheet. Now that includes formatting I don't want. Have to paste it into a plain text editor first, then copy it again.
I can live with that.

See if there's a feature in your spreadsheet where you can choose 'paste and match style'.

Like new eye-glasses on the face of an old friend...we'll get used to it. If you keep saying " if it ain't broke, don't fix it " people will think you're in a rut!

Change is the only constant. Embrace it and move on. I personally like it. Yep. Besides, I don't pay them anything and they own the site. Changes usually have a reason, but I see no reason why they should give me one. If I were going to complain about anything on that site, it would be that it allows a few people to attempt to act out personal vendettas via nonsensical reviews, and as long as they don't violate the rules, the moderators leave them up. Complete transparency as to reviewer names would solve such nonsense.

Looks like it regressed rather than progressed. It reminds me of late '90s chat rooms. Never found much value to the site but it is painful to look at now.

It seems search functionality is less user friendly. I sometimes look for the constituent tobaccos in a blend or the actual manufacturer of a given tobacco. Those aren't always correct anyway. The reviews aren't very useful to me, being necessarily subjective. I do find unintentional humor in some of them--tobaccos that improve dramatically after a week of aging, the reviewers that hate aromatics, but feel the need to pan an aromatic, or the ones who absolutely never smoke cased tobacco but love Cavendish.

Don't like it at all! I don't know why people have to do these dadburn fool things all the time. Did they ever hear "If it aint broken Don't fix it"? I'm a simple man and have always been a creature of habit and HATE change, when Nimrods do this stuff it's like moving the furniture on a blind man. Are they saving any money doing this, I doubt it, are they making it easier, I double doubt it. If they're that bored that they have to be busy all the time they should give me a call, I have all sorts of things they can do besides screw'en up websites.

Catching up on Pipesmagazine podcasts of the last month or so I listened to Brian Levine’s rant as he explained all the changes. It sounds like they screwed upon this one.

Hi all! I am glad for the review site. Some on there are quite detailed! A lot of my "tester" tins were obtained after reading the posts there. I score them high on my list for accuracy and amount of information. I hope many of you are posting that are able. I would love to post but I think only advanced palettes should. Reason being that the blends reveiwed substantiate our hobby and benefit from clarity of sample descriptions to other readers. Kind of library of congress versus bookstore vibe. While I have some insightful comments on the various tobaccos consumed over time I have come to term that I lack the ultimate senses required to find all the nuances of a blend..fine for comparing notes with folks here but probably a disservice to those seeking details about a blend. Should be dapper mustachioed men in top hats battling it out with Someliers from around the world for the top spot as "World's most accurate Review Poster"..(getting silly . But being a go to website for information I encourage all who are capable to get on there and do your best! Our hobby is proven as the best way to enjoy one of the fruits of our lands so sharing expands knowledge of it and that is a good thing!

I don't like it but in a few months you wont even notice it. Ebay does this crap all the time. Once in a while I understand. Every other month, come on enough.

I don't like it but in a few months you wont even notice it. Ebay does this crap all the time. Once in a while I understand. Every other month, come on enough. I was a programmer in the 1980's. We had very stringent processes for change releases - any changes were requested by our clients and user-tested by them before release. The 2000's way of releasing changes does not involve the end customer at all. At best, the customer is some group within the organization that fiddles around with ideas. The closest they get to customer interaction is when we complain about their ideas through someone in India who never tells them.
