So, Ted, what did you think about the butternut burley? Without the few crumbs of Formers?
Another bit of butternut burley in a GBD Conquest Virgin...a great smoking pipe and good style, too.

This isn’t the right place to put this I’m sure but I didn’t feel it deserved it’s own thread. Does anybody have any Dan Salty Dog they want to sell or can point me to a site to buy it? The ones I frequent are sold out and I’ve been itching to try for a while.

I am enjoying it very much. I don't think that I smoke a lot of aros but they do have a place in my pipe smoking world. I enjoy smoking different blends I think I have 120 to 140 blends on hand right now. For me I think it is a journey that I am enjoying and learning to accept and appreciate different tobaccos for why someone thought to make them that way.I learned part of that from you Walt. Bob's Choc. Flake was not pure joy at first bowl but I learned by the end of the sample to enjoy it and looked forward to having some very much and that it has it's place for me.

Probably still quicker than waiting for the next US bound container to make it to make it to the distributor, and out to the retailers. And getting some before it is gone.

happy weekend to all. Full walks done earlier, no-band 5x50 for company. After the Ed is fed, Abingdon in old SamMartin freehand & continue with the papers. Aiding wifie in her "planty/flowery" decisions on which pots she wants uncovered from under back porch will hopefully not take too long later.
59, clear looks like all day eventually

May 15th. yesterday was very nice. Sunshine, mild breeze, great temperatures. every bowl was great. today rain enters and lasts for a few days. The morning bowl was Adagio (c&d) x105 pete newgrange I like the blend. good power with a bit of sweet cavendish as a nice topper to the flavor. I consider it a non aromatic aromatic. just enough sweet to enjoy without the pesky tongue bite. the second bowl is sunday picnic (c&d) in my freshly reamed luxor basket pipe. I like this blend despite it being able to give a good bite if smoked too fast. the perque appears to cut the golden virginia down halfway in a bowl. so instead of more bite it has much less at the end then at the start. great combo, allows me a small taste of the heavenly virginia without the devilish bite. As rain is here already any more bowls will be under the canopy unless the wind is up and it needs to be tucked away against damage. I bet sparkplug (glp) runs smudgy and flavorful on a damp day..may have to load a bowl and see about that! hope you all are having a great weekend!
