Hey all,
I hung out here for a bit, but work got so damn busy I haven't had time for anything else. Finally got a weekend without meetings, so I'm having a pipe in my backyard.
I'm Bob. I live in N TX near Wichita Falls. I'm originally from Louisiana, and have lived damn near everywhere.
My favorite blends are burley blends, usually. I like an English now and then, though.
Hope everyone is well.
Cheers, Bob

Might have to do that. My in-laws live out near Sedona, so there's a decent chance I'll be in your area.

adding welcome/greets from 50miles East of Buffalo, NY. Everything I smoke is heavy on the latakia. All pipes have lucite stems (too damn old to take time messing with de-oxidation cleaning) Lots of good advice to be had here & friendly folks.
Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY 2nd in "seniority" to Plainsman, am 80 last Dec

Welcome back dingobob! I spent some time at Sheppard AFB back in the late 80's so I've been in your neck of the woods. Now, I live very close to your in-laws in the Verde Valley area. Maybe we'll have a smoke sone day. 😎

Hey, from a Brit in Dallas. Now, we want to know the meaning of your handle Hey Simnett, How's Dallas treating a Brit? Back in my University days, my advisor (an Aussie) once told me that I looked "hungry and wild as a dingo." I was weirdly flattered by the comparison, and a friend of mine started calling me Dingo Bob. Not a great origin story, but it's mine, so I'll take it.

Actually, that's a pretty great origin story.

Welcome back to the forum, from SW Kansas. I travelled through Wichita Falls a fair amount when our daughter was attending TCU. The same daughter now lives in the Rio Grande Valley and we drove home from there yesterday, a trip of 16 hours or so, with a side trip through Amarillo to pick up my wife's car from the airport. In the normal 905 mile trip from our house to hers, 65 miles is in Kansas, 35 in Oklahoma, and the remaining 805 in Texas, all of it heading south. Enjoy your time here!

Yeah...I drove a stint n the BS tour, Bruce Springsteen not Barbara Streisand. We switched seats in El Paso, and I never stopped to take a leak or get fuel...11 hours from EP to Houston...impressed the hell out of my co-driver though. Texas is big, I don't even want to think about Alaska.

Somebody once tod me that El Paso is closer to San Diego than it is to Orange, Tx. I thought, no way is that true. Of course, it is. There is a lot of Texas.
