I watch his channel. I was just glad he's going to be OK.

My son in law and daughter follow the guy. 9 million views in 4 days!
My daughter bought me the “Put a thumb in it” T-shirt.

I saw that video somewhere else.
I guess I question holding cartridge in place using a screw on cap... Sure, for the first several milliseconds the case expands in the chamber and holds itself there until the pressure drops.
Using old questionable ammunition isn't all that advisable either.
Actions and methods for dealing with serious overpressure were developed decades ago. The Mauser 98 and the Hatcher hole come to mind. Big beefy bolt lugs, a safety lug and properly heat treated receivers.

I am glad to see he is ok.
One of the reasons I stick with factory ammo and reloaded only to the specs published in the Hornady Guide to Reloading. With .45-70, that was critical as the case dimension greatly exceeds the pressure capacity of the rifle using modern powder.

Yikes. Worst I could get from my day job is a paper cut or burning my tongue on hot tea.

Making your own ammunition is care-driven, fact-supported, and dangerous when done carelessly. A bit of paranoia helps. I’ve been doing it for 67 years and so far so good. (Sheesh! I’m Irish enough I wanna take that back now! At least knock on wood!)

Old factory ammo would degrade, and if anything weaken in time? That sucks for him.

I reckon that on more than one occasion Paddy felt like roast pastor. Some people don't like the message, but blame the messenger. Hopefully, that is a rare occurrence.

since this is a gun thread....
I always thought that Wayne La Pierre was a slimy critter, after listening to Tom Gresham's Guntalk podcast and Googling his name, what a worthless piece off swine excrement he is.
Glad I never signed up for a lifetime membership to support his lavish lifestyle as the drowning rat still continues to drian the coffers to save his ratty arse.
I have supported the second amendment foundation for years though....Alan Gottlieb has been doing the Lords work while the NRA has been selling people out.

Hopefully, that is a rare occurrence. Thankfully, yes, it is.
