Hey, it's only money. As long as the checkbook still has checks.... 😜 🤠True. And it's a good thing I do have some pipes and tobacco because, curiously, smoking them seems to be the only thing I can afford to do right now . That's why they are such good investments!

Yeah, these are beauties....and even better that you get so much enjoyment from them.
My late pipe smoking mentor would tease me incessantly about my adoration for "all things Dunhill" as he would say. He didn't really make much from them; thought they were way overpriced. So, I did what any normal person would do. I bought him his own Dunhill and sent it to him in the mail! Only way to shut him up! Lol
He got straight to work on the pipe and put it through the ringer. He smoked it every day for 365 days to see how it would perform. He broke that puppy in solid. It took everything he gave it, and it became a wonderful little pipe for him - a convert made - at least in appreciation for engineering of a pipe rather than immense devotion and purchase.
I have a few Dunhills in my collection - smoked one last night - and I have to agree that they're a really, really fine pipe to smoke and admire.
Congrats on your burgeoning collection, Sir.

Great story, by the way, rokerdepipe. Of note, I have been one of those Dunhill sceptics for the longest time. Not anymore.

They are lovely pipes and I hope that you enjoy them in good health. May you never regret the money. I have a Root Briar lovat myself, a series 3, and it's a great pipe.

So far, I have smoked 13 out of 14 and they have perfectly justified the swift investment I have made. I simply love them. Were I to just own these White Spot I would be absolutely content.

You did it! Your taste is pipes is phenomenal sir. You are too kind. But it's my evil brother who did it.

Claude,
Are the tobacco prices consistently high across all of Canada, or do you get some relief in your neck of the woods?

Claude, Are the tobacco prices consistently high across all of Canada, or do you get some relief in your neck of the woods? No relief whatsoever. Prices are relatively high, depending on the province one lives in. I can get a tin of Peterson in Quebec for around 27 US$. A 50g tin of Capstan is 47 and C & D goes for 35 US$. A pouch of Amphora is 29 US$. Captain Black goes for 33 US$ but a pouch of Erinmore, 37 US$. A pouch of Captain Black in Newfoundland would be 35 US$. A pouch of 50g home blend in BC (Victoria) is now 70US$ but then, I'm wondering if there is not a mistake on the website because, needless to say, it is crazy. I hope so. These prices exclude the 7% HST (harmonized Sales Tax). As for ordering pipes and tobacco online, one gets systematically billed big time by our Customs officers. It is definitively abusive, especially on tobacco, depending on the value.
