Mine is being held by the Postal Service, along with the rest of our mail until we return. I have learned that it's always safest to do a hold mail while we are gone, just in case some random pipe or tobacco-related package is set to arrive while I'm gone.
I'm looking forward to picking mine up on Friday morning.

That really is a beautiful, elegant pipe. But would I be wrong to say that that stem and shank are very vulnerable and delicate?

That really is a beautiful, elegant pipe. But would I be wrong to say that that stem and shank are very vulnerable and delicate? Not really. Good balance; better than the bigger version. The stem is perfectly substantial and just beefy enough that you’re not going to bite through it by accident. |

Picked mine up from the PO today. This is much more in line with what I was hoping for than the "Special" I sold off to John. Almost identical in dimensions to my Scottie Bings. This one is a home run, and for $100 will make a great knock-around pipe when I don't want to risk one of my custom pipes getting dropped on the concrete. That being said, this is a gorgeous pipe, and a phenomenal bang for the buck.

That being said, this is a gorgeous pipe, and a phenomenal bang for the buck. Same boat as you - speaking for myself, I didn't quite like the larger version of this pipe. I told them at the time when they were starting to sell these pipes that they should make a version more similar to Bing's rather than this large golf club version. For whatever reason, they figured that the market was demanding bigger pipes at the time. They've obviously seen the better way forward in offering both sizes and at a really great price point. A "hunerd bucks" is doable for the majority of us. It puts the pipe within reasonable and justifiable reach. Can't wait to break her in! |
