I was in Spain a few years ago when I discovered, to my horror, that I had forgotten to bring my pipe bag along. I visited a ship that had a few pipes and left with this at a cost of about $50. It is stamped Alba on one side and made in Italy on the other. There is a logo that looks like MR, a large block M next to a large block R. It's actually a nice little pipe, sturdy, but I can discern nothing about it. Pipedia is no help and it shows up infrequently elsewhere. Anybody have any idea about it's origins or who made it? Thanks.

That is what I found. On Worthpoint I saw some Silvano? Alba pipes made in Italy but not much mention anywhere, so it probably is a basket pipe. Not to knock it, some basket pipes are great smokers, but I don't see people collecting them.
