I've been looking at the pictures of the Ruger Hawkeye African 6.5x55. Damn it's a good thing that I don't need or want another gun!

That Remington 9mm (Model 51?) is a very handsome pistol. Single stack though, I believe. That is nice looking and well designed DA 9mm. I recall the Berkeley, CA Police Department was one of the first municipal departments to adopt it as their patrol officer sidearm back in the early 1970s. The guys much appreciated the lighter weight and compact size. San Francisco PD had adopted the Smith & Wesson Model 57 .41 magnum with six inch barrel. A large frame and heavy gunpiece which annoyed the heck out of everybody concerned. I have thought the Browning Model 1935, Hi-Power, was the standard for 9s in appearance and functionality. I've owned both the P35 and the CZ 75B. IMO, the CZ makes the Browning look like an early prototype.

I've owned both the P35 and the CZ 75B. IMO, the CZ makes the Browning look like an early prototype. I am guessing the CZ 75 is double action. Selective. Can be carried for DA first shot, SA all subsequent, or cocked-and-locked just like a 1911. 16+1. Grip-frame feels much like a P35. Built like a Rolls. Mine is also very accurate and eats everything I feed it without complaint. Great trigger, too. It's only drawback is that it is a heavy pistol. A service pistol rather than an EDC. Should last forever though.
CZ75B, blue. Mine's stainless...

Thanks. It really does have very elegant, slender lines. Almost girlish. I think I'm going to enjoy it. Spotted something else while I was there, too. They were selling Beretta APXs for $375, which was just too darn good to pass up. That's budget-brand money for a Beretta. Maybe they're about to stop production on them or something, since they didn't really catch on for whatever reason, and stores are blowing them out of inventory. I dunno. But for $375, geez, I felt like I stole it. I know I'm old fashioned, but that's one FUGLEY gun! Thanks for sharing?

Lots of those plastic-framed EDC-type pistols are made in Croatia or Turkey. All of SA's are. Made in Italy.

That's basically the story on my P226. Great shooter, but heavy enough to crack walnuts.

I know I'm old fashioned, but that's one FUGLEY gun! Thanks for sharing? You're welcome! 😁 🤠 The rifle is really beautiful. I can't lie about the pistol. Maybe someone else would think it's great.

Criticizing someone's EDC choice is a leetle like criticizing their dog. Plus, they are armed!

Here's my battle pistol. It's ugly too, but absolutely dependable. 40oz of solid steel. Star Model 30M

You're welcome! 😁 🤠 The rifle is really beautiful. I can't lie about the pistol. Maybe someone else would think it's great. The looks are definitely polarizing. I have to say, though, those reverse-serrations work really well. Even my mildly arthritic hands have no problems with it.

Just picked up my Hawkeye. But for $375, hell.
