I just got on from the NY Pipe Show held across from Newark Airport. A small venue but well attended with a wide assortment of pipes and tobacco. Ran into some friends and met a lot of very nice people. One table had 2 original Bengal Slices in the small tins but at $90.00/tin I felt it was too dear a price. After 2+ hours I was done. There is an after show get together at JR's in Whippany, NJ but I took a pass. Anyway, feast your eyes.
4 tables of meerschaums. 
I picked up this 36 Decatur slot pipe rack for $60. I'll load it up tomorrow.

Looks like more fun than a barrel full of monkeys. Great price on the rack.

Ditto's on the rack... just why I keep prowling the antique stores.
It would be heavenly to crack some of them tins...hellish on the wallet.
Some of them meers look gargantuan!

Some of those meers were bigger than my size 11 1/2 shoe. Turns out the guy lives about 10 minutes from me.

I was nice to meet you via LT at your first pipe show. No smoking has taken a toll on pipe shows but the real fun happens in the smoke filled hotel rooms with your fellow collectors the nights before and after the show. Mrslax had a great time shopping with a couple of other pipe wives so I hope to be back (and help me drive 14 hours each way) again next year  |

After attending the west coast pipe show once, I am hooked! If there is one within the region of a piper, that person should make the attempt to go... it is a lot of fun.
