 Wife made this for me this afternoon, Son had given us 3 big bags of Texas Pecans, she hid one knowing how much I eat them. Reached in the freezer today and made one of my favorites. Good woman I don’t deserve her!

It looks like pecan pie perfection.
I never knew how much sugar is in a pecan pie until I made one....holy cow!
I am not much of a sugar eater, but with pecan pipe I make an exception.

Add a shot of fine bourbon or Jamaican Dark Rum and you have a truly delectable treat....not for those who are/were on the wagon.
Made that mistake when I brought some in to my employees...didn't think of those who were in AA...I was embarrassed at my ignorance.
Oldcajun, you have a fine family and you certainly raised them right (in my opiinion).

Thats is a pie worthy of a cookbook photo! If it tasted half as good as it looked, I am sure it was an absolute treat!

Good woman I don’t deserve her! Very nice! I lived in San Antonio during my early childhood and we had pecan trees in our yard. I'd gather them up and my mother would make pecan pie. Still one of my absolute favorites to this day. We had coconut cream pie this Father's Day which is also high on my list. Aside from pound cake, I'd much rather have pie than cake. |
