I took a job for a week and a half out of town to help a dealer out get a large cooler installed. The campground kept calling so I got back to them and they wanted to know when I'd be back. Ohio Edison redid the main service to campgrounds and wired it backwards and a whole bunch of campers electrical systems got smoked. I was back in a couple days and was working there getting campers repaired. I replaced 54 A/C units, 27 inverters, 49 control boards for the refrigerators and 15 fireplace inserts. I only lost my control board and fireplace and considered myself lucky.
Saturday I was replacing my last converter at the neighbors camper and I was caught up. I heard someone yell Oh my god that tree fell on some ones camper. I came out to look and it was mine. After much cursing I checked out the damage and got some help getting the tree limb off. My A/C unit was smashed, had several cuts in the roof and the ladder was smashed on one side. My neighbor helped out patching the roof and the campgrounds owner got my new A/C unit in today and I'll install it tomorrow.
It was great to see the many fellow campers come to help out. Now the real battle begins. Dealing with the insurance.

Wow, heads should roll at Ohio Edison that is wrong with them guys, do they also check if wires are hot by using their tongue? Another quote comes to mind....No good deed goes unpunished. You are a good man, Ken. Sorry that the fair winds aren't blowing your way.

You are a good man, Ken. Sorry that the fair winds aren't blowing your way. The real kicker is it was a supervisor who did it. It sucked that the tree got me but no one got hurt and I'll have A/C tomorrow and the rest of the repairs will be done over the winter so I'll still be able to camp the rest of the year.

Glad you can write about it with ease.

Sorry to hear this. We'd have no luck if it weren't for bad luck. at least it's all sorted out and well on to being remedied.

Just remember, if it doesn't kill you it only makes you stronger!

"If it weren't for my bad luck, I'd have no luck at all"
Sympathy to those affected of course

Just got home. Got the new A/C installed and running and the new fireplace arrived so I got that in too. All I can say is no matter how bad it seems I'm lucky to have a skill set that gets me bailed out of some of the disasters that come my way. before after good as new
