my current stable of pipes is to my liking, I have spigots, army mounts, and some fine tenon based briars but I lacked one of my desired pipes.
A Castello shape 16 billiard.
so I occasionally check rebornpipes.com and the other day I see a Castello 3k shape 16 billiard.
In a rush of activity, I inquire about the pipe and find it is available.
So how to explain to the bride I need another pipe?
So I didn't..lol.. just confirmed I wanted the pipe and sent a paypal payment!.
While I have aquired many of the pipes I desire I still missed on what I consider to be one of the best pipes available...a Castello billiard.
now I possess a shape 75 lovat in a triple G from the kino era..(i think it is one of the rarer Castellos with few actually made) a shape 23 apple from the days of carlos scotti, and now a shape 16 in a 3k still from the carlos scotti era.
oh I am so excited to have it in hand I could burst!
so for the rest of you please relate your best Castello story and pipe and I will select one as the winner.

So far some nice posts. I do want to clear up a small detail. My personal Unicorn is a vintage Dunhill silver spigot. It resides far outside my finances, luring me with those english lines and saucy silver spigot. I value the Castellos as they are oil cured with that italian flair for the shapes, and I have been able to actually aquire some of them. The Dunhill is truly a Unicorn, seen only in images posted online....  . also Ron just what pipes do you have to sell? I might be able to help you get one sold pipe closer to that 55 if you have something to my tastes...  . |

I have two Sea Rocks, a billiard and a bent billiard. Am very very happy with them. Extremely light and wonderful smokers. Attractive as well. Castello and Dunhill are my favorite pipes. You can't beat either one.

Congratulations on your new pipes! A Black Sea Rock is my favorite and the 16 is a very elegant shape. We have an active Castello Collectors group on Facebook book if you want to geek out. I have many Castello stories and many of them involve my close friend and mentor “Mr. Castello” Chuck Rio who sadly passed away last Sunday. RIP
