I believe that a very entertaining evening would be had with Mark Twain. If his stories are only half as entertaining as Hal Holbrook's version, it would be an absolute treat!

My uncle Ricky so I can ask him what he smoked. I never asked when I was a kid but I always remember him with a pipe in his mouth. I have one of his pipes a cob but what he smoked I have no recollection.

Charles Bukowski. Marie Curie. Ken Kesey. Randall Flagg. James Herriot. Closet pipers, all. So which book is Randall Flagg a pipe smoker in?? I've only made it through The Stand and the Dark Tower Book 1 so far... Ha, ha. I cheated. I loved the Dark Tower books, but I don't think he ever partakes of the leaf. Then again, maybe I could introduce him to the pipe and he'd certainly be interesting. |
