Sounds like an interesting idea. Putting a jar of Grousemoor on the table to start things off.

I'm down. I have stuff I don't smoke that others might like. The only crappy stuff I had was Paladin and it never made it to the shelf--it's long gone. Probably should run it by sparks?

Grousemoor jokes aside, if we do this, I think I could pull a few things together.

I like Grousemoor. I'll definitely finish my tin in the next five years.

In all seriousness, wasnβt this done once before on the Patch? Trade your tobacco for something else? Perhaps sparks or Paddy could chime in?

I've got a few things I could throw in there also, I'll have to dig around and see what all is there.

I like the tobaccos that I have, but I'd be willing to list some to share if anyone was curious about a blend but didn't want to invest in several ounces

Sounds like a good idea to me. I easily have 7-8 tins of tobacco I have picked up over the last couple of years that did not work for me. Should maybe set up a permanent thread for pass it along tobacco's.

Would we be proposing to do it here, as a virtual "Get Rid of Your Crappy Tobacco"? I know we have done similar at our local pipe club also. I don't have a problem with it, it's more a question of logistics when you are not in person together.

I don't have a problem with it, it's more a question of logistics when you are not in person together. I suppose we could, although it sounds like it could be tied into the PIF thread. Logistics will be a bit hairy, as it will become rapidly cumbersome the more people post in the thread, but a bit of patience and judicious use of the search function should help.

Well, my tastes change over time so I can't be sure that I won't like it in the future. Right now my crappiest tobacco is McClelland's Christmas Cheer..... π

I've got a tin of Black Shag in a similar state. Can't decide if I should smoke it or trade it.

Im not aloof to this idea. I have a few I'm not a big fan of like grapes and cherries. Vanilla and anything heavy in cavendish. I had been on a bender of TAD with obtain every blend known to man. It certainly can not be done and won't be done.

I'm all on board for this as long as the mods are in agreement. I hope we can take this for a stroll and see how it pans out. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for sure.

It's not a crappy tobacco I'm getting rid of, but I have a decent supply which you're welcome to a sample of. Give a holler.
