Finally got the new Alternator into the old Land Cruiser. Took a while to find a replacement as this model is 34 years out of production. Many owners have gone to a GM upgrade. Not your humble correspondent. Only original or like for me! I do not know what I will do when the squirrels inside the engine finally give up. They do not breed them like that anymore.

It is a weak alternator. Spec is 55 AMPs. I doubt I am getting that. Volts are light but within acceptable limits. It is a $55 rebuild. I can pay $350 to $450 for a better quality rebuild from the Mothership of All Land Cruisers- "Spector Off Road" in Los Angeles.
