Finally got the new Alternator into the old Land Cruiser. Took a while to find a replacement as this model is 34 years out of production. Many owners have gone to a GM upgrade. Not your humble correspondent. Only original or like for me! I do not know what I will do when the squirrels inside the engine finally give up. They do not breed them like that anymore.
Congratulations on getting the battle wagon up and running, John.

It is a weak alternator. Spec is 55 AMPs. I doubt I am getting that. Volts are light but within acceptable limits. It is a $55 rebuild. I can pay $350 to $450 for a better quality rebuild from the Mothership of All Land Cruisers- "Spector Off Road" in Los Angeles.
