I've always loved Stanwell's Lovat (98). I just find them so well proportioned and elegant. A long, long time ago, I owned a Buffalo that was just the dandy. Well, today as I was browsing, I bumped into this baby, a DM (some German pipe club, I think) dated 1998 and unsmoked. I could do only one thing: pull the trigger!   Lord Guyrox is very happy.  |

Beautiful and classy pipe...clean elegant lines...what is not to love? I had some Comoys (from the 60's, when I bought them... I worked in a pipe shop...a real pipe shop)...gave the pipes to a good friend AJ...MGTarheel knows who I am talking about...they were beautiful....and he loved him some Comoys. I had them for over 50 years and thought someone else should enjoy them as much as I did.

According to the info I found on The Danish Pipe Shop, DM stands for Danish Championship. It's a slow smoking competition that has been organized for many years by the Nordisk Tobaks Kollegium (NTK) which is the main pipe club in Denmark.

Very nice score! I'm a big fan of the 98 as well. Don't own one yet, but it's on the list as well. In my experience, you really can't go wrong with Stanwell.
