Hi all,
I'm looking to stock up on a couple favorite blends like Magnum Opus for the cellar, and while I ordinarily support my local shop, WA state tax on 10-ish tins at once kind of hurts. Can't order online, but travel for work, and I was thinking AZ - where I spend a couple nights next month - taxes are probably lower than ours. Thought I'd maybe order ahead at a local shop, but the one Phoenix shop I've been wanting to visit (Ye Olde Pipe Shop) is showing permanently closed. Anyone know of another good brick and mortar in the Phoenix area?
Thanks...

AZ is a fairly high tobacco/sales tax state but the stock from Ye Olde got split up between the two Stag Tobacco shops. The Phx location seems to have more tinned tobacco and lower end pipes and the Scottsdale location has the higher end pipes.

I have been told that most of the pipe stuff from Ye Old ended up at the Stag store near the metro center. Hiland’s cigars in So. Scottsdale gets some pretty decent blends in, you can see their stock online. hilandscigars.com/Big Sticks where the Arizona Pipe club meets at has been getting more and more in, still far less than what Ye Olde used to stock. If so inclined, PM the dates that you are in the Phoenix area and maybe you can attend Arizona pipe club’s monthly meeting or pipe night.

Thanks guys. I should have looked up the AZ tax rate; I just ASSumed it would be substantially lower haha. I think what I really need to do is get myself a Charleston overnight, and rent a car and drive down to Laudisi's and stock up!

If you have something specific in mind I would pay for 2nd day mail order service ahead of your next trip. Some hotels charge for receiving packages and you will have to pay that states sales tax but at least you’ll know they have what you want.
