recently started smoking a pipe. am currently sitting on my porch watching the forest and breaking in a morgan pipes, "bones rhodesian" with a tobacco that i found at my local smoke shop. somewhat serendipitously for my new chapter in life, it happens to be named after my father! cornell and diehl's "nutty irishman".. what a coincidence. or maybe its named after me. as i said i'm pretty new to the game but im finding it very nice as i can smoke quite a bit of it without feeling nic'd out. very helpful as i make the transition from cigs. if anyone has any suggestions on other commonly available yet very low nicotine blends i would be grateful. i'm really going through this stuff right now. thanks.

Welcome from South Carolina. You might want to try Prince Albert, or Milan Tobacco's "Our Prince Albert". Nice light flavors with very light nicotine. I'm sure others will have additional suggestions.

I try to walk a low nic path too ,but many aromatic blends are about aroma {duh], and leave you puffing like a runaway train, searching for flavor. I have had some fine aros from C & D ,Mocha and Apricots and Cream, I think two good ones. Before you invest a ton of money in aros {like many of us have} you might try some more tobacco forward blends like burleys or burley/Virginia tobacco, and maybe explore some lite English or crossover blends. One of the best pouch burleys I've found lately is Amphora's Burley Blend, or there's bulks like Peter Stockkbye's 312 or 702 ,in bulk. Even good ole Prince Albert, on the drug store shelf ,has something to offer... you might find that really good tobacco will let you relax and sip at the smoke. I'm sure others will have much more to add, but for now that's it from me.

That's an interesting question. I'm not very nicotine-sensitive, probably due to having grown up in a [cigarette] smoker's house, so I'm not much help, unfortunately, but I'll be interested to see what folks have to say.

Maidin mhaith agus fáilte. I’m very sensitive to tongue-bite, but have a found a mild, everyday, all-day smoke in Sutliff’s Z92, AKA Vanilla Custard Cream. I smoke a lot of it. It’s low nic and does not bite. I hope you enjoy your stay with us and that it’s a long and happy one. Lots of great people here generous with their knowledge and always friendly. Ask away, and you’ll get a helpful answer.

Generally speaking, Latakia has the lowest nicotine content of all tobacco leaves. If it's flavor you're looking for, Latakia has that in spades.

Welcome from SW Kansas, enjoy your stay. As for tobacco, you might try some Peter Stokkebye English Luxury PS-17. You can buy it in bulk from Tobaccopipes.com. It is quite affordable and a good introduction to English style blends.

Most Virginia blends are not Nic-heavy, but sip slowly and do not puff as a cigarette smoker, or they can bite you. I would suggest some Macbaren’s blends, but without age they can Macbite you. Orlik Golden Sliced may be a good one to try… but then again, better with age.
Welcome from Arizona!

Glad you found your way to pipes! My suggestion is Cobblestone Chess Series "King" I read that cobblestone is actually sutliff. I recently tried several of the blends and find them all very good with quality tobacco and good processing even looks to be a bit of age on the tins before sale. The King blend is very flavorful yet mild in power. The bishop is excellent as well with a bit more power but still mild. I think you will find a lot of what you are looking for in a blend with those two. All of my other personal favorites are pretty high power or "Codger" blends which are not for everyone. In a rare moment of "hey, let's try a new tobacco" i found cobblestone. While I will not be buying more of those two blends, I do recommend them with confidence. I am just needing more power (medium to full) from my tobaccos so I tend toward those so no other low power blends to suggest. Anyhoo, hope you find "Your" blends and enjoy in good health!
