Bummer of a morning so far today. My recently purchased Ropp pipe has a horn stem, which i'm really enjoying btw. After I finished smoking and let the pipe cool, I took the stem off to clean it and the tenon separated. The tenon is a separate piece from the shank and stem, it is a little white tube of sorts. It was originally connected to the stem but is now loose. I think im going to try to apply beeswax to the stem and shank to see if this will hold, does anyone else have any ideas on how to repair this?

Could you super glue it into the stem? I don't think beeswax is a long term solution.

I would simply send a line to smokingpipes, explain what happened and go from there.

But you would have to push it in real fast.

I got into a little tilt with some guy about Ropp Pipes once. I didn't know this because no Ropp I have ever seen had it, but the guy told me there should be a cork lining that holds the stem in place. When they get old the cork dries and this is common. You just need to find some cork or have a repair guy do it for you. I didn't know this so always converted mine to a standard tenon.

This one had a removable plastic tenon. I really like the aesthetic of the pipe, but the mechanics of it and the way it smokes is kind of a let down.

A photo would sure help to diagnose the problem your having before you unintentionally do something you may regret.
