Christmas Cheer 2014 in my RobE Danish-Inspired Egg. I’m glad I had a three day weekend with today off as Saturday and Sunday totally sucked. In one of my circle of friends everyone else is 15 to 18 years older than me. We used to have a weekly cards game and four of us had a weekly Sunday morning golf game. Unfortunately, one of the guys passed away on Saturday and then when I was calling around to some of the other guys to break the news, I found out that one of the other guys is in the ICU (not COVID) and isn’t expected to make it and that one of the other guys has developed severe dementia. It was a bit of a shock finding about all of them in less than 24 hours. I'm very sorry to hear this, John. Prayers for your friends and their families.

I am sorry to hear that John, the aging process often sucks in regards to health issues. Yeah, I just didn’t expect it quite so soon. I've known the guys for 30 to 35 years. Being quite a bit younger than them, I always assumed I’d be going to their funerals, but with them being around 73, it’s too soon to be doing so.

Smoking Three Friars in the Monday cob. I smoked a few bowls of Watch City Slices today, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, smoked a bowl of Carter Hall and concluded that if OTC/codger blends were the only pipe tobaccos available, I'd be a cigar smoker.

Ordered another pound tonight, along with Old Dominion. The other flakes all have some latakia in the blend, I think, so avoiding those. Interested in Simply Red and Rhythm & Blues, too. Gotta wait until they're back in stock, though. Man, I really hope you can track down your package.

So easy to rub out (basically, just crumble it) and moisture level is near perfect for smoking right away.

Morning everyone. Busy morning already, but I did manage a bowl of ODF RR in the way in, also in a 124. Right now I'm kinda limited to my 9mm pipes, as they are the only ones that can handle the humidity around here.

Good morning! Back from the gym and I just started a bowl of Captain Black Royal in my new Dr. Grabow's Smooth Duke Straight (which was ordered as a Savoy but Dr. Grabow's, when chose online, are like a box of chocolate it seems). Of course, lots of coffee on the side.

In from full 2-miles power walks, no-band 5x50 for company. After the Ed is fed, Abingdon in old SamMartin freehand & continue with the papers. Wifie at hospital for an "echo" + something else related. No anti-biotics so can chauffer herself this time. More yard work planned for later
pleasant 58, clear at present, headed for 76 eventually. Again, sympathy for all those heat affected
